DuPage County Provides Sand Bags To Lake County

DuPage County provided Lake County with 100,00 sand bags for flooding relief.

DUPAGE COUNTY, IL — The DuPage County Division of Transportation and the Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management provided sandbags to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to assist with flooding in Lake County, according to a release. According to the National Weather Service, towns like Elgin, Lake Villa and Gurnee received over 7 inches of rain.

In an effort to help their neighbors to the north, DuPage County prepared and loaded 100,000 sandbags and loaded them on a flatbed truck. According to a release, the county is standing by for any future mutual aid requests in Lake County.
