Elmhurst AAUW Collecting Books For Annual Sale

Looking to do some summer purging? Consider donating to the Elmhurst AAUW Used Book Sale. Books, CDs and DVDs can be dropped off in designated bins starting Saturday, July 9th through Monday, August 1st at the following locations: Elmhurst Public Library (125 S. Prospect), Park District Courts Plus (186 S. West Avenue) and Sandburg Middle School (345 E. St. Charles Road) which is the preferred location Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 Noon, when sorting will be taking place.

Thousands of used books, CDs, and DVDs will be available at the Annual Used Book Sale. Well organized into over 30 different categories, the four-day sale features a large children’s section, as well as a collector’s area. Proceeds benefit local scholarships and national AAUW research and programs for women.

The sale dates and hours are as follows:

Thursday, August 4: 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. (Preview Sale, $10 Entrance Fee)

Friday, August 5: 9:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.

Saturday, August 6: 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

Sunday, August 7: 11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. ($10 Bag Sale)

Admission is free on all days except for Opening Night (Thursday) when there is an entrance fee of $10 per person. There is a special sale on Sunday when everything you can fit into a brown grocery bag is just $10.00.
