Elmhurst Architecture Walking Tour slated for August 20

Explore Elmhurst's rich architectural history on 2nd annual Walking Tour co-presented by Elmhurst Art Museum and Elmhurst History Museum

When it comes to different architectural styles, the quintessential American suburb of Elmhurst showcases a diverse array throughout its various neighborhoods, from classic and prairie style to mid-century modern and many more. The Elmhurst History Museum and Elmhurst Art Museum invite the public to celebrate this rich architectural heritage with a guided Elmhurst Architecture Walking Tour on Saturday, August 20 at 3:00 p.m.

The Walking Tour was well received when it debuted in 2015, and has been brought back due to its popularity. The tour group will explore the streets of Elmhurst with architect and arts educator Robert Bunda who will share insights about the different styles and architectural details along the way. The tour will last approximately 1.5 hours starting at the Elmhurst Art Museum (located at 150 S. Cottage Hill Ave.) and ending at the Elmhurst History Museum (120 E. Park Ave.).

To register for the Elmhurst Architecture Walking Tour, go to the Elmhurst Art Museum’s web site at www.elmhurstartmuseum.org in the programs section. The cost is $15 for members of the Elmhurst Heritage Foundation or Elmhurst Art Museum, and $20 for non-members. Note: There is a limit of 25 participants. This program is co-presented by Elmhurst Art Museum and Elmhurst History Museum.
