Elmhurst Business Given Nuisance Warning
This was after two people were arrested on fentanyl possession charges.

ELMHURST, IL – Elmhurst police this week issued a local hotel a "chronic nuisance" warning after two people were arrested.
The warning was given Monday to Extended Stay America, 550 W. Grand Ave. The police pointed to an incident that took place about 2 p.m. May 3.
Police responded to a call about a person who was believed to be intoxicated.

Once there, they charged a man and a woman with unlawful possession of fentanyl. They were taken to the DuPage County Jail.
The business was warned it may be charged if three or more nuisance activities occur within three months.

Since Elmhurst enacted its chronic nuisance ordinance in 2008, 280 such cases have been successfully resolved, according to the police department's latest annual report. Only 28 cases received a second violation and only five went to a third, the report said.
In 2022, 18 chronic nuisance warnings were issued.
The city most recently issued a warning to Sarpino's Pizzeria. That was in response to a car event in its parking lot, police said.
