ELMHURST, IL — If you're interested in law enforcement and want a chance to get a behind-the-scenes look at what Elmhurst cops do, here's a great chance. The 12-week Citizens' Police Academy starts in late August.
"The program provides participants with a better understanding of some of the challenges faced by police officers in the field as well as insight into how and why certain situations might be resolved in a particular manner," police said. "Many of the classes offer opportunities for hands-on participation with actual police equipment and training procedures."
The class will take place every Wednesday from Aug. 29 to Nov. 14, from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m.
