Elmhurst Clinic welcomes Colleen Marotta, Certified Nurse Midwife

Colleen Marotta, a Certified Nurse Midwife, has joined Elmhurst Clinic’s Midwifery and Women’s Health practice. She is accepting patients at two Elmhurst Clinic locations – in the Elmhurst Memorial Center for Health, 1200 S. York St. in Elmhurst and 130 S. Main St. in Lombard. Marotta received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Loyola University and her Masters of Science in Nursing from Frontier Nursing University in Hyden, Kentucky. She worked as a registered nurse and lactation consultant at Elmhurst Hospital for 11 years, and has midwifery experience working with all stages of pregnancy, newborn care and well-woman care.

Midwives are advanced practice nurses (APNs) who are nationally certified and licensed by their state. They are specialists in low-risk pregnancy, childbirth, postpartum and women’s health. Midwives support women’s choices, cultural preferences and unique needs while working with a mutual understanding and respect to deliver the care all women deserve. Midwifery care supports the patient in having a natural, personalized experience with alternative comfort measures, such as hydrotherapy and warm water immersion for labor and birth.

Elmhurst Clinic midwives see patients at Midwifery and Women’s Health offices at 1200 S. York St. in Elmhurst, 130 S. Main St. in Lombard and 1100 Lake St. in Oak Park. The midwives deliver babies at Elmhurst Hospital, 155 E. Brush Hill Rd. in Elmhurst.
