Elmhurst Cops Called About Abandoned House
They also responded to three domestic disturbances in recent days.

ELMHURST, IL – In the last few days, Elmhurst police handled cases involving an abandoned house, domestic disturbances, a drunken-driving suspect with a weapon, injured people and a missing man. Here is information from the latest Elmhurst police reports:
Abandoned house
- An officer helped the city's code enforcement department with an abandoned house about 11:30 a.m. Thursday in the 400 block of East Park Avenue. Code enforcement requested a board-up company to respond to secure the windows.

- A woman told police that her husband battered her about 2 p.m. Sunday in the 300 block of South West Avenue. No arrests were made because of conflicting statements and a lack of evidence.
- Police responded to a reported domestic battery about 9 a.m. Friday at Route 83 and St. Charles Road. An investigation is pending.
- Police responded to a domestic disturbance about 11 p.m. Sunday in the 500 block of South Parkside Avenue. Both people agreed to separate for the night.
Weapon charge
- A 52-year-old Chicago woman was arrested about 1 a.m. Saturday at Lake Street and Interstate 290 on charges of DUI, unlawful use of a weapon, resisting arrest, attempted obstruction of evidence, driving an uninsured car, possession of open alcohol, possession of marijuana by a driver, improper lane usage and failure to signal. She was released.

- A woman tripped on an electric barricade and injured her right knee about 6 p.m. Saturday at Schiller Street and Commerce Parkway. She was taken to Elmhurst Hospital.
- A person fell and suffered chest pains about 8 p.m. Saturday at Chipotle Mexican Grill, 139 N. York St. The person was taken to Elmhurst Hospital.
- An unconscious person was found on the sidewalk not breathing about 7 a.m. Thursday in the 200 block of South Hawthorne. Good Samaritans performed life-saving measures. The person was taken to Elmhurst Hospital.
- An officer was called about a man who had fallen and was unconscious about 8:30 a.m. Friday in the 200 block of West St. Charles Road. He was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove.
Missing man
- A man left his home in the 400 block of North York Street after an argument Tuesday and had not returned as of two days later. Several attempts were made to contact the man, but were unsuccessful.
Theft
- A boy's blue and orange GT mountain bicycle was stolen about 5 p.m. Saturday from the bike rack at Courts Plus, the park district's gym at 186 S. West Ave.
- A person was seen taking two patio pavers about 9:30 p.m. Sept. 1 from a property in the 100 block of East Fremont Avenue. The theft was reported Sunday. Police found the suspect, who returned the pavers.
