Elmhurst Cops Find Porch Piracy Suspect: Report
The man stole a package from a porch and put it into a Grubhub bag, authorities said.

ELMHURST, IL – In recent days, Elmhurst police arrested people on charges of porch piracy, burglary, retail theft and a warrant. Here is information from the arrest log:
Porch piracy
- A 34-year-old Glen Ellyn man was arrested about 4:30 p.m. Sunday on two counts of theft and one count of attempted unlawful possession of identification cards. Police said the man removed a package and placed it into a Grubhub bag about 4:30 p.m. Sunday in the 100 block of Joanne Way. He drove away. About 10 a.m. Tuesday, he was arrested at his Glen Ellyn home. He was released.
Retail theft

- Dawand Lovett, 36, of Phoenix, was arrested about 3:30 p.m. Tuesday on one count of burglary and two counts of retail theft. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail. In the same incident, a 33-year-old East Hazel Crest woman was arrested on a charge of retail theft. She was released. Police said they stole merchandise at Walgreens, 160 N. Robert Palmer Drive.
- A 26-year-old Chicago man was arrested about 5 p.m. Monday at CVS Pharmacy, 110 W. North Ave., on a retail theft charge. He was released.
Warrant
- A 45-year-old Chicago man was arrested about 11 a.m. Monday on a DuPage County warrant. He turned himself in at the Elmhurst police station.
DUI

- A 25-year-old Melrose Park woman was arrested shortly before midnight June 29 at North Avenue and Interstate 290 on charges of DUI, driving an uninsured car, leaving the scene of a property damage accident, improper lane usage, damage to a highway structure and failure to wear a seatbelt. Police said she ran away from a single-car crash, but was found after she fell in a ditch. She admitted to drinking and then fleeing. She was taken to the police and released.
- A 64-year-old Lisle man was arrested about 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at First and York streets on charges of DUI and driving the wrong way on a one-way street. He was taken to the police station and released.
