Elmhurst D-205 Cancels School Thursday

ELMHURST, IL — Elmhurst School District 205's schools will be closed Thursday because of winter weather, expected to begin as ice and then turning to snow in the afternoon, the district said Wednesday evening.

In a mass email, the district said the worst of the storm is forecast to hit in the afternoon, causing unsafe travel conditions for the commute home from school.

All elementary, middle school and York High after-school activities are also canceled.

Students who receive transportation through District 205 to the Technology Center of DuPage and out-of-district special education programs will not be transported as a result, the district said. Affected students are to receive excused absences.
