Elmhurst D-205 Official Absent Nearly Half The Time

ELMHURST, IL – Chris Kocinski, a member of the Elmhurst School District 205 board, has missed nearly half of the meetings since the beginning of the year.

Kocinski has not shown up for six of the 13 board meetings. He missed half of one of the other meetings. He most recently missed Tuesday's session.

In an email to Patch, Kocinski declined to comment about his absences. He referred to the board's practice that its president, superintendent or designee speak to media outlets on behalf of the district.

Board President Kara Caforio responded to Patch's inquiry.

"We have indeed missed Mr. Kocinski at the Board table recently," she said in an email. "At times, Board members' personal or professional lives may pull them away. Whether physically present or not, all Board members remain engaged and committed to the work of moving D205 forward."

Kocinski is the board's vice president. He was elected in 2019, with his term expiring next spring.
