Elmhurst Domestic Victim Taken To Hospital: Cops

The suspect tried to stop her from calling the police during the incident, police said.

ELMHURST, IL – In recent days, Elmhurst police arrested people on charges of domestic battery, DUI, trespassing and theft. Here is information from the latest arrest log:

Domestic battery

  • A 35-year-old man from Gary, Indiana, was arrested about 9:30 a.m. Sunday in the 100 block of Fellows Court on charges of domestic battery causing bodily harm and interference with the reporting of domestic violence. The man struck a woman numerous times with a phone and then prevented her from dialing 911. She was taken to Elmhurst Hospital. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.

Theft

  • A 53-year-old man from Bellwood was arrested about 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Jewel, 153 E. Schiller St., on a charge of theft. Police said a man told them that he left his wallet at the store. The suspect, who was a Jewel employee, admitted to stealing the wallet. He was released.

Warrant

  • A 20-year-old from the 200 block of East North Avenue was arrested about 6:30 p.m. Thursday at his house on a DuPage County warrant. He was released.

  • A 34-year-old man from Chicago was arrested about 3:30 p.m. Friday in the 600 block of North York Street on charges of DUI, improper lane usage and leaving the scene of an accident. He was released.
  • A 24-year-old man from Cicero was arrested about 3:30 a.m. Sunday at North and Berteau avenues on charges of DUI, unlawful possession of marijuana, no valid driver's license, driving an uninsured car, speeding, improper lane usage and tinted windows. He was released.

Trespassing

  • An 18-year-old woman from Addison was arrested about 9:30 p.m. Saturday in the 100 block of North York Street on a charge of trespassing. She was released.
