Elmhurst DUI Suspect Says She Wasn't Driving: Cops
The woman kicked and grabbed an officer, saying she only had one glass of wine, police said.

ELMHURST, IL – Elmhurst police arrested a woman two weeks ago who said she did not know she got into a crash, even as an officer pointed out fresh damage to her car, according to a report.
She also loudly complained about not being able to find her shoe, even though she had just put it on, police said.
Police described the 24-year-old Flossmoor woman as highly intoxicated. She was arrested about 9:30 p.m. Aug. 18.

Patch obtained the full police report through a public records request.
The woman told officers she had a glass of white wine at Cooper's Hawk restaurant and bar in Downers Grove.

She said she was heading home, but had no idea what town she was in, according to the report. Flossmoor and Elmhurst are in opposite directions from Downers Grove.
The report indicated she was following a driver who lived in the area of West Verret Street in Elmhurst, but apparently did not know who he was. The man told officers that he saw the woman crash into a guardrail.
The woman was found in the driver's seat of her Ford Fusion east of Verret and Sunset Avenue. She said she had not been driving.
The woman also said the damage to her car was already there, but she couldn't say when or how it happened, police said.
During sobriety tests, the woman became upset and grabbed at an officer, then kicked the officer as he was placing her in the backseat of a squad car, the report said.
The woman was arrested on charges of DUI, resisting arrest, battery (two counts), disorderly conduct and improper lane usage.
The woman was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
