Elmhurst DUI Suspects End Up In Pond, Ditch: Cops

Another suspect was found sleeping behind the wheel before he was arrested, police said.

ELMHURST, IL – Over the last few days, Elmhurst police arrested six men and two women on DUI charges. One was found in a retention pound and another in a ditch, police said. Here is information from the reports:

  • A 40-year-old Elmwood Park woman was arrested about 4 a.m. Saturday in the 400 block of East Court on charges of DUI and improper passing. Police said she drove her car off the road and into a retention pond. She was released.
  • A 40-year-old Cicero man was arrested about 1:30 a.m. Sunday at Route 83 and Lake Street on charges of DUI and improper lane usage. Police said his car was found in a ditch. He was released.
  • Marino Carrillo-Lopez, 35, of Glendale Heights, was arrested about 4:30 a.m. Monday in the 200 block of North West Avenue on charges of aggravated DUI, driving with a revoked license and transportation of open alcohol. Police said Carrillo-Lopez was found asleep behind the wheel. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
  • A 22-year-old Glendale Heights man was arrested about 12:30 a.m. Saturday at North and Larch avenues on charges of DUI, no valid driver's license, improper lane usage and improper lighting. He was released.
  • A 64-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested about 10:30 p.m. Saturday at Lake Street and West Avenue on charges of DUI and driving without headlights when required. He was released.
  • A 38-year-old Chicago woman was arrested Sunday at High and Adams streets on charges of DUI and not driving on the right side of the roadway. She was released.
  • A 37-year-old Aurora man was arrested about 11 p.m. Sunday at Interstate 290 and York Street on charges of DUI, failure to signal and disobeying a traffic signal. He was released.
  • A 34-year-old Cicero man was arrested about 3 a.m. Monday at Berteau and North avenues on a charge of DUI. He was released on bond.
