Elmhurst Firm Targeted Twice In Same Night: Cops

Police get reports of theft suspects in the parking lot twice within a few hours.

ELMHURST, IL – An Elmhurst business was hit twice the same night earlier this week by theft suspects, police said.

About 10:30 p.m. Tuesday, officers were alerted about the attempted break-in of a vehicle in the parking lot at MedSpeed, 140 W. Industrial Drive., police said.

While on the way, police were told by the security monitoring company that the suspects were no longer there. Nothing appeared to be missing from the vehicles, police said. The suspects' car was a gray four-door Nissan Altima.

Three hours later, officers responded again to the same address for a possible theft in progress of a catalytic converter from a car. Upon officers' arrival, a car was fleeing the lot, last seen headed east on Interstate 290, police said.

The suspect left a red vehicle jack under a vehicle in the parking lot, police said. The suspect was driving a four-door silver Infiniti.
