
The Elmhurst Garden Club will host a “Meet the Scholars” luncheon at its Monday, March 7 meeting which will begin at 11:15 a.m. at the Wilder Mansion, 211 S. Prospect Avenue, Elmhurst.
Current winners of the Mildred Hartney scholarship will discuss their horticulture and environmental science projects, including their latest research as part of the program.
This year, the Elmhurst Garden Club has awarded $8,500 in scholarships to seven college students: Wes Krug, University of Wisconsin-Platteville; Aimee Keillor, Miami of Ohio at Oxford; Larissa Root, Northern Illinois University; Charmaine Cunningham, College of DuPage, Lona Sweet, College of DuPage; and Sukhbir Thind, Loyola University of Chicago.

The monies raised have come primarily from the proceeds of the Garden Walk and Faire which is held the second Sunday of July. The scholarships range from $1,000 to $2,500. For further information, www.elmhurstgardenclub.org.
