Elmhurst Hospital to hold Safety Drill on Wednesday, August 30
The exercise is a precursor to a Full-Scale Active Threat Drill that will take place in the fall.
As part of Edward-Elmhurst Health’s continuing efforts to ensure a safe environment, Elmhurst Hospital, in partnership with the Elmhurst Police and Fire Departments, will conduct an Active Threat Drill on Wednesday, August 30 between approximately 10 a.m. – 12 noon.
This exercise is a precursor to a Full-Scale Active Threat Drill that will take place at Elmhurst Hospital in the fall (on a date to be determined) and will also involve the Elmhurst Police and Fire Departments.
The hospital holds several drills each year to prepare and test its responses in the event of a disaster in Elmhurst or surrounding communities.

Prior to and during the drill, there will be a noticeable presence of law enforcement and fire department personnel and vehicles on the Elmhurst Hospital campus and inside Elmhurst Hospital.
The drill will not impact patient care or safety, and will not affect traffic or parking on the Elmhurst Hospital campus.
