For the fourth year in a row, Elmhurst Hospital has been nominated to participate in Soliant Health’s Most Beautiful Hospital Contest. The Most Beautiful Hospital is determined by an online public vote, which runs through June 8. To vote for Elmhurst Hospital, visit www.soliant.com/hospitals-2015/vote. Elmhurst has made Soliant Health’s 20 Most Beautiful Hospitals list the last three years -- #5 in 2012, #2 in 2013 and #16 in 2014.
In its comments about Elmhurst in 2014, Soliant wrote, “The building’s stylish looks and comforting feel would make for acceptable-to-excellent accommodations even by the standards of many hotels.”

There are 72 finalists in the voting for Most Beautiful Hospital. A panel of experts picked the finalists based on architectural style, photogenic properties, landscaping and distinctiveness. The Top 20 Most Beautiful Hospitals will be announced on June 15.
Designed to be one of the premier hospital facilities in the Midwest, the 866,000-square-foot EMH opened its doors to patients in June 2011. Using classic Prairie-style architecture, the Hospital incorporates an earth-tone color palette, warm wood fixtures, natural lighting and campus gardens to create a healing environment that transcends the typical hospital experience.

Each of the facility’s 259 private inpatient suites includes soothing colors, natural wood, stone and fabrics, cheerful tile accents and images of nature. Surrounded by expansive green space, sparking ponds and healing gardens, the extensive landscaping creates a “building in a garden” that sets the tone for a unique healthcare experience.
