Elmhurst Household Labeled A Nuisance
In another case, an Elmhurst man disobeyed an officer and fled, police said.

ELMHURST, IL – In the last few days, Elmhurst police handled cases involving a chronic nuisance, obstruction of an officer, check fraud, damage, DUI and an order of protection. Here is information from the latest Elmhurst police reports:
Nuisance
- A chronic nuisance warning was issued Monday to a household in the 100 block of Fellows Court. The police department cited three cases for its decision to issue the warning. In one instance, a 25-year-old man at the home in question poured beer on a woman and scratched her. In another case, the man was cited on a warrant for missing a court date. He was found in violation of his release from jail.
Obstructing officer

- A 64-year-old man who lives in the 700 block of Stuart Avenue was arrested about 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at York Street and Crescent Avenue on charges of obstructing a police officer, driving with a suspended registration, driving an uninsured car and improper lighting. He was also arrested on a DuPage County Sheriff's Office warrant. Police said the man failed to comply with orders and fled. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
Check fraud
- Premier Outdoor Environments, 977 S. Route 83, told police Monday that it mailed several checks and was later notified the checks were never received. An investigation is pending.
Bicycles found

- An officer recovered two bicycles that had been locked to a lamppost for more than a month at York Street and Fremont Avenue. The officer placed them into evidence for safekeeping Tuesday.
Damage
- Someone drove onto a baseball field and made impressions in the sand between Friday and Monday at Eldridge Park, 363 W. Commonwealth Lane. An investigation is pending.
- Someone punctured all four tires on a car and broke the driver's side mirror overnight Monday at SpringHill Suites, 410 W. Lake St. An investigation is pending.
Order of protection
- An Elmhurst officer assisted the Lake County Sheriff's Office with serving an emergency order of protection about 11 a.m. Wednesday at Ed Napleton Acura, 745 W. Lake St.
DUI
- A 22-year-old Addison man was arrested about 2:30 a.m. Monday at North Avenue and Interstate 290 on charges of DUI and improper lane usage. He was released.
- A 40-year-old Arlington Heights man was arrested shortly before midnight at Lake Street and Route 83 on charges of DUI, improper lane usage, speeding and driving an uninsured car. He was released.
