Elmhurst Liquor Store Targeted Twice: Cops
Five women were arrested in connection with the theft of liquor, police said.
ELMHURST, IL – In the last few days, Elmhurst officers were called twice to York Liquors, 552 S. York St., because of thefts, police said. Here is information from the reports:
- Dorothy King, 30, of Chicago; Shatara Collins, 30, of Chicago; Enosha Walls, 24, of Chicago; Darquel Williams, 21, of Iowa City, Iowa; and Raychel Toney-Edwards, 23, of Chicago, were arrested about 8 p.m. Friday. King, Collins and Walls face charges of retail theft. King, Williams and Toney-Edwards were charged with obstructing a police officer. King, Collins and Walls were taken to the DuPage County Jail. The others were released on bond. According to a police report, the owner of York Liquors told officers that three women entered his store and stole liquor before running west on Vallette Street. Officers found the suspects' car, but it was unoccupied. They set up a perimeter and took the five suspects into custody.
- A man entered York Liquors, 552 S. York St., and stole three bottles of tequila about 3 p.m. Saturday. The man headed south on York in a red Ford sedan. The man was described as black, 155 pounds, 20 years old, having short black hair, and wearing a white shirt and jeans.
