Elmhurst Man Among Latest DUI Arrests: Cops

Local police make six drunken driving arrests in the last few days.

ELMHURST, IL — Elmhurst police arrested six people on DUI charges in recent days. Here is information from the reports:

  • Charles Bodach, 19, of Elmhurst, was arrested about 4 a.m. Saturday at First and Haven on charges of DUI, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, illegal standing where prohibited and use of fraudulent identification. He was released on bond. According to a police report, he was found asleep behind the wheel.
  • Taquilla Kirby, 37, of Chicago, was arrested about 11:30 p.m. Friday at York and Palmer on charges of DUI, no valid driver's license, possession of open alcohol, disobeying a traffic control device and operating an uninsured motor vehicle. She was released on bond.
  • Martha Bandera, 62, of Chicago, was arrested about 6 p.m. Saturday at North and Evergreen on charges of DUI, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, illegal lane usage, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and illegal transportation of alcohol. She was released on bond.
  • Maurice Knighten, 48, of Chicago, was arrested about 2 a.m. Sunday at West and North on charges of DUI, unlawful use of a weapon (two counts), unlawful possession of ammunition, possession of a firearm without a firearm owner's identification card and improper lane usage (three counts). In the same stop, Lacheon Simmons, 49, of Addison, was arrested on a charge of unlawful use of a weapon. They were taken to the DuPage County Jail. According to a police report, a search of the suspects' car yielded a semiautomatic pistol.
  • Connor McNally, 20, of Addison, was arrested about 9:30 a.m. Sunday at York and North on charges of DUI, consumption of alcohol by a minor, improper lane usage, disobeying a traffic control signal and driving the wrong way on a one-way street. He was released on bond.
  • Dayna Jensen, 33, of Glendale Heights, was arrested about 10:30 p.m. Sunday in the 400 block of West Alexander on charges of DUI, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and improper lane usage. She was released on bond. According to a police report, Jensen was arrested after a car was found in a back yard.
