Elmhurst Man Among Latest Local Arrests

The resident is accused of drunken driving, police said.

ELMHURST, IL – In the last few days, Elmhurst police handled cases involving DUIs, gun violations, harassment, chronic nuisances, theft and fraud, among other offenses. Here is information from the latest Elmhurst police reports:

DUIs

  • Nick Nastos, 42, of Elmhurst, was arrested about 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at York and Crescent on a charge of DUI. Police said they received a report of a reckless driver. He was released on bond.
  • Paola Enriquez Lopez, 19, of Stone Park, was arrested about 10:30 p.m. Monday near Route 83 and the Union Pacific Railroad on charges of DUI and improper lane usage. She was involved in a single-vehicle crash. She was released on bond.

Gun violations

  • Tanio Demarkest Hall, 28, of Bensenville, was arrested about 4 p.m. Tuesday at Palmer and Marion on charges of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, possession of a firearm with no firearm owner's identification card, possession of ammunition without a FOID card, driving with a suspended license, illegal transportation of alcohol and disobeying a traffic control device. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.

Harassment

  • Waxing the City, 193 N. York St., told police Wednesday that an elderly suspect had been calling the business three to five times a day for the last month inquiring about waxing treatments. An investigation is pending.

Chronic nuisances

  • A chronic nuisance warning was issued Tuesday to a house in the 400 block of Argyle Avenue.
  • A chronic nuisance warning was issued Wednesday to a house in the 800 block of South Hillside Avenue.

Converter thefts

  • A catalytic converter was stolen from a car between Friday and Sunday at Kohl's 303 S. Route 83. Another one was stolen overnight Friday in the 100 block of Fellows Court.

Bicycle theft

  • A boy's Mongoose mountain bicycle was stolen about 7:30 p.m. June 19 from an unlocked shed in the 800 block of Cedar Avenue.

Sign removed

  • The stop sign on the southeast corner of Willow and Schiller was removed about 6 a.m. Wednesday. A temporary sign was put up.

Fraud

  • A resident in the 100 block of East Schiller told police Wednesday that someone used his banking information to complete two fraudulent purchases in New York. While on the phone with his bank, a third attempt was made.

Theft

  • Elmhurst University, 190 S. Prospect Ave., told police that two youths were driving a campus-owned golf cart about 9:30 p.m. Wednesday. When approached by university staff, the youths ran away through a parking lot.

Driving violations

  • Lidia Sanchez-Mendoza, 35, of Carol Stream, was cited about 2 a.m. Wednesday at North and Maple on charges of no valid driver's license and improper lighting. She was released on bond.
  • Crystal Tucker, 34, of Chicago, was cited about 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in the 500 block of West North on charges of driving with a suspended license and driving an uninsured motor vehicle. He was released on bond.
  • Brandon Rumualdo, 24, of Los Angeles, was cited about 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at Chandler and Marion on charges of obstructing identification, no valid driver's license and permitting an unauthorized person to drive. He was released on bond.
  • Gregory Teng, 42, of Chicago, was cited about 4:30 p.m. Monday at York and Third on charges of driving with a suspended license, driving an uninsured vehicle and no valid registration. He was released on bond.
