Elmhurst Man Arrested After Police Chase: Cops
The driver was wanted on a previous road rage incident, authorities said.

ELMHURST, IL – An Elmhurst man who was wanted in a previous road rage incident led Lombard police on a chase Thursday night into Elmhurst, authorities said.
Gratas Zvirblis, 21, who lives in the 900 block of Spring Road, was ordered to stay in the DuPage County Jail until his trial, authorities said.
Shortly after 9 p.m., Lombard officers responded to a crash on Interstate 88 involving the driver of a gray BMW who drove away east on Butterfield Road, according to a news release from DuPage County prosecutors.

The driver, Zvirblis, failed to stop after officers activated their emergency lights, police said.
Zvirblis made his way to Spring Road in Elmhurst, where he rear-ended another car, causing damage, prosecutors said. They said he got out of his car and ran on the block where he lives.

As Zvirblis tried to jump a fence, an officer grabbed him, causing both to fall, police said. Zvirblis is accused of resisting the officer's attempts to handcuff him, causing the officer to injure his left elbow in the struggle, police said.
Prosecutors said Zvirblis had an odor of alcohol, bloodshot eyes and slurred speech.
Zvirblis was wanted on a warrant involving road rage, prosecutors said.
Zvirblis was charged with aggravated fleeing and eluding an officer, resisting a police officer causing injury and more than a dozen misdemeanor offenses, including DUI.
