Elmhurst Man Arrested In Local Domestic: Police
He is accused of grabbing a woman and placing his arm around her neck during an argument, authorities said.

ELMHURST, IL – In recent days, Elmhurst police arrested people on charges of domestic battery, theft, property damage, drug possession and DUI. Here is information from the latest local police reports:
Domestic battery
- A 34-year-old Elmhurst man who lives in the 400 block of West Alexander Boulevard was arrested about 8:30 p.m. Thursday at his house on two counts of domestic battery. Police said the man grabbed a woman and placed his arm around her neck during an argument. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
Theft

- Joseph Montoro, 38, of Berwyn, was arrested Wednesday on a felony charge of receiving, possessing or selling an essential part of a vehicle. In the same case, a 54-year-old Brookfield man was arrested Thursday on a misdemeanor charge of theft not exceeding $500. They were accused in connection with a Feb. 20 theft of a 2004 Toyota Camry at Elmhurst Hospital, 177 E. Brush Hill Road. They were taken to the DuPage County Jail.
Warrant
- A 47-year-old Elmhurst man who lives in the 700 block of Parkside was arrested about Thursday in the 100 block of East North Avenue on a DuPage County warrant. He was also cited on a charge of disobeying a traffic light. He was released.
Property damage

- A 42-year-old Chicago man was arrested about 7 p.m. Thursday at the BP gas station, 1003 N. York St., on two counts of criminal property damage. Police said a woman lent her car to the man, but when she came back to pick it up, she noticed her tires were damaged. The man admitted to causing it. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
Drug possession
- A 25-year-old Downers Grove man was arrested about 1:30 a.m. Sunday in the 100 block of South Robert Palmer Drive on charges of unlawful marijuana possession, marijuana possession with the intent to deliver, DUI and failure to signal. He was released.
DUI
- A 44-year-old Villa Park man was arrested about 9:30 p.m. Sunday at North and Evergreen avenues on charges of DUI, driving an uninsured car, leaving the site of a crash and driving too fast for conditions. Police stopped the man after a hit-and-run report. He was taken to the police station and then released.
Dog at large
- A 33-year-old Elmhurst man who lives in the 600 block of South Prospect Avenue was cited about 6:30 p.m. Thursday at his house on a charge of having a dog at large. Police said the man's dog got out of the backyard and attacked a neighbor's dog. The victim's dog was brought to the veterinarian.
