Elmhurst Man Causes Problems At Neighbor's House: Cops

He was charged with disorderly conduct and criminal damage to property.

ELMHURST, IL – In recent days, Elmhurst police arrested people on charges of disorderly conduct, criminal damage, retail theft, burglary, drug possession and DUI. Here is information from the latest Elmhurst police reports:

Disorderly conduct

  • A 65-year-old man who lives in the 400 block of North Van Auken Street in Elmhurst was arrested about 1:30 a.m. Thursday in the 400 block of North Van Auken Street on charges of criminal damage to property and disorderly conduct. Police said the man banged on a front door in his block and damaged the screen and Halloween decorations. He was found and refused to follow officers' commands. He was released.

Retail theft

  • A 39-year-old man and a 37-year-old woman, both from Franklin Park, were arrested about 11:30 a.m. Thursday at Kohl's, 303 S. Route 83, on charges of retail theft. They were released.

Burglary

  • Duong Nguyen, 35, of Glendale Heights, was arrested about 6 p.m. Thursday at Kohl's, 303 S. Route 83, on charges of burglary, retail theft (two counts) and unlawful possession of a controlled substance. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.

Drugs

  • A 57-year-old Broadview man was arrested about 1 a.m. Thursday at Jewel, 944 S. York St., on charges of unlawful possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Police responded to a report of an "erratic" man. He was released.
  • A 34-year-old Chicago man was arrested about 11:30 a.m. Friday at North and Berteau avenues on charges of unlawful possession of a controlled substance and driving with a suspended license. He was released.

DUIs

  • A 47-year-old Maywood woman was arrested about 4 p.m. Thursday in the 1200 block of South York Street on a charge of DUI. She was involved in a crash. She was released.
  • A 36-year-old Griffith, Indiana, man was arrested about 1 a.m. Saturday at North and Melrose avenues on charges of aggravated DUI and improper lane usage. He was released.
  • A 37-year-old Beach Park man was arrested about 1:30 a.m. Saturday at Evergreen and North avenues on charges of DUI, possession of a concealed firearm while under the influence of alcohol, disobeying a stop sign and failure to signal. He was released.
  • Anniebell Smith, 45, of Berwyn, was arrested about 10 p.m. Saturday at York and Willow streets on charges of aggravated DUI, obstructing identification, illegal transportation of alcohol, driving with no insurance, failure to signal when required, improper turn and squealing tires. She was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
  • A 27-year-old Warner Robins, Georgia, man was arrested about 4 a.m. Sunday at Industrial Drive and York Street on charges of DUI, improper turn and improper lane usage. He was released.

Warrant

  • A 44-year-old woman who lives in the 300 block of North Ridgeland Avenue in Elmhurst was arrested about 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Industrial Drive and York Street on a DuPage County warrant and charges of driving with a suspended license, no valid registration and not wearing a seatbelt. She was released.
