Elmhurst Man Charged In Domestic: Cops

In another case, a local man tried to enter a house and get someone to sign papers, police said.

ELMHURST, IL – In the last few days, Elmhurst police handled cases involving domestic battery, disorderly conduct, soliciting without a license, a stolen vehicle, a drug theft, vandalism and a backpack with heroin. Here is information from the latest Elmhurst police reports:

Domestic battery

  • A 35-year-old man who lives in the 100 block of East Fremont Avenue in Elmhurst was arrested shortly after midnight Sunday at his house on two counts of domestic battery. Police said he slapped a woman during an argument. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
  • A 33-year-old Franklin Park man was arrested about 11 p.m. Friday at Clarion Inn, 933 S. Riverside Drive, on three counts of domestic battery. Police said he struck a woman several times. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.

Disorderly conduct

  • A 53-year-old Elmhurst man who lives in the 500 block of North Walnut Street in Elmhurst was arrested about 5 a.m. Monday on a charge of disorderly conduct. Police said the man was trying to enter a house in the 500 block of North Adele Street and get the victim to sign some papers. He was released.

Soliciting with a license

  • A 20-year-old man and a 19-year-old man, both of Chicago, were cited about 4 p.m. Friday at Currito restaurant, 272 N. York St., on a charge of soliciting without a license. The 19-year-old was also charged with disorderly conduct. They were released.

  • A man tried to pick up his daughter at 9 a.m. Thursday in the 900 block of South Spring Road. She refused to go. He is claiming unlawful visitation interference. An investigation is pending.

Stolen vehicle

  • Police on Friday received a report of a stolen vehicle at Super Ego Holding, 782 N. Industrial Drive, a trucking company. An investigation is pending.

Drug theft

  • A woman told police that someone stole two bottles of her prescription medication while she was visiting her mother from 9 p.m. Wednesday to 2 a.m. Thursday at Elmhurst Extended Care Center nursing home, 200 E. Lake St. An investigation is pending.

Domestic disturbance

  • In a domestic disturbance, two people pushed each other about 11 a.m. Saturday in the 700 block of North Kenilworth Avenue. No one wanted to press charges. No injuries were seen. One of the people left the house for the day.

Vandalism

  • Someone damaged a car with a key about 8:30 a.m. Saturday at Home Medical Express, 853 N. Church Court. An investigation is pending.

Backpack with heroin

  • Elmhurst Hospital security found an unattended backpack containing medications and four baggies of heroin at the hospital's clinic at 755 N. York St. An investigation is pending.

Fugitive driver

  • About 8:30 p.m. Monday at Lake Street and Grand Avenue, an officer tried to stop a car that was reported stolen in Chicago. The driver failed to stop and was last seen heading west on Lake from Addison Avenue.
