Elmhurst Man Claims To Be Victim, But Isn't: Police

Officers charged the man with assault and disorderly conduct, authorities said.

ELMHURST, IL – An Elmhurst man told police last week that he was hit while he was riding his bicycle, but the driver left.

Police said they reached another conclusion: The man hit a car's mirror, broke it and then lunged at the driver. It occurred about 8 p.m. Thursday near the At Home store, 265 S. Route 83, police said.

The 57-year-old bicyclist, who lives in the 600 block of North Emroy Avenue, was charged with assault and disorderly conduct. He was released.
