Elmhurst Man Faces Aggravated Battery Charge
The man struck another driver during an argument about a crash, police said.

ELMHURST, IL – In recent days, Elmhurst police handled four calls involving battery. Here is information from the reports:
- Tadeusz Smulski, 60, who lives in the 15W000 block of Lexington Street in unincorporated Elmhurst, was arrested about 8 p.m. Saturday at York and Lexington streets on an aggravated battery charge. Police said he battered another person in an argument about a crash at York and Lexington streets. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
- A 43-year-old Algonquin woman was arrested about 3 p.m. Saturday in the 600 block of North Howard on two counts of domestic battery. A man said his ex-wife had come to visit her son at his house. Then the man and woman got into an argument. The man asked the woman to leave, but she physically attacked him and threw a bottle of soap at him, causing him to bleed, police said. She was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
- A suspect struck a woman during an argument about 11:30 a.m. Friday in the 900 block of South York Street. An investigation is pending.
- A woman told police an argument between her and another person turned physical while in the car about 7 p.m. Friday in the 100 block of East Butterfield Road. It started when the other person went through the woman's phone. An investigation is pending.
