Elmhurst Man Flees Cops, Taken To Jail: Cops

The man was charged with aggravated fleeing and reckless driving, among other offenses, police said.

ELMHURST, IL – In recent days, Elmhurst police arrested people on charges of aggravated fleeing and eluding, electronic harassment, retail theft, disorderly conduct, vandalism and DUI. Here is information from the latest Elmhurst police reports:

Aggravated fleeing

  • Zakaria George, 21, who lives in unincorporated Elmhurst, was arrested about 1 a.m. Sunday at St. Charles Road and York Street on charges of aggravated fleeing and eluding, reckless driving, loud excessive noise caused by a muffler, speeding, improperly displaying a license plate, and driving an uninsured car. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
  • Angel Bustamante, 33, of Chicago, was arrested about 2:30 a.m. Saturday at North Avenue and Highview Street on charges of aggravated fleeing and eluding, DUI, driving with a revoked license, improper lane usage, speeding, illegal transportation of marijuana by a driver and disobeying a traffic control device. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.

Electronic harassment

  • A 28-year-old Cicero man was arrested Friday on six counts of electronic harassment. The incidents were Feb. 28 at York High School, 355 W. St. Charles Road. The man was released.

Retail theft

  • A 61-year-old Elmhurst man who lives in the 200 block of Clinton Avenue was arrested about 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Jewel, 153 E. Schiller St., on a retail theft charge. He was released.
  • A 33-year-old Chicago man was arrested about 10:30 a.m. Sunday at Jewel, 944 S. York St., on a retail theft charge. He was released.

Disorderly conduct

  • A 38-year-old Glen Ellyn man was arrested about 10 a.m. Friday at Eldridge Park, 363 W. Commonwealth Lane, on a disorderly conduct charge. He was also arrested on a DuPage County warrant. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.

Vandalism

  • An 18-year-old Elmhurst man who lives in the 500 block of South Arlington Avenue was arrested about 10:30 p.m. Friday in the 600 block of South Berkley Avenue on a charge of vandalism. The man knocked on and broke a window, causing a TV to fall and break when the window gave out, police said. The man admitted to the crime. He was released.

DUI

  • A 41-year-old Roselle woman was arrested about 4 a.m. Saturday in the 200 block of North York Street on charges of DUI and possession of open alcohol by a driver. She was taken to the police station and then released.
