Elmhurst Man Harasses After Breakup: Police

In another case, three people were charged with burglary and retail theft, authorities said.

ELMHURST, IL – In recent days, Elmhurst police arrested people on charges of telephone harassment, burglary, trespassing, selling to a minor and DUI. Here is information from the latest Elmhurst police reports:

Telephone harassment

  • A 20-year-old Elmhurst man was arrested shortly before midnight Saturday in the 100 block of East Park Avenue on charges of telephone harassment and resisting a police officer. Police said the man sent threatening and homicidal messages after a breakup. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.

Burglary

  • Nathaniel Boyd, 36, of Kankakee; Christie Carver, 43, of Ottawa; and James Bonds, 67, of Chicago, were arrested about 4:30 p.m. Saturday on charges of burglary and retail theft. Boyd and Bonds were also charged with possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. The incident was at Kohl's, 303 S. Route 83. The suspects were taken to the DuPage County Jail.

Soliciting without permit

  • A 20-year-old Bend, Oregon, man was cited about 11:30 a.m. Thursday in the 800 block of South Parkside on a charge of soliciting without a permit.

  • A 21-year-old Buffalo Grove woman and a 20-year-old Maywood man were arrested about 10:30 p.m. Saturday at the city's parking garage at 145 N. Addison Ave on charges of trespassing. They were on the seventh floor, where the public is prohibited. They were released.
  • A 56-year-old Wheaton man was arrested about 4 a.m. Friday at 7-Eleven, 155 E. First St., on a charge of criminal trespassing to a building. He was released.

Selling to minor

  • A 39-year-old Northlake man was cited about 5 p.m. Friday at 7-Eleven, 155 E. First St., on a charge of selling liquor to a minor. He was released.

DUI

  • A 35-year-old Addison man was arrested about 10 p.m. Friday at Lake Street and Route 83 on charges of DUI, improper window tinting and speeding. He was taken to the police station and then released.
  • A 49-year-old Cicero man was arrested about 9:30 p.m. Friday at North Avenue and Willow Road on charges of DUI, improper lane usage and opening alcohol by a driver. He was taken to the police station and then released.
  • A 51-year-old Addison man was arrested about 1 a.m. Saturday at Lake Street and West Avenue on charges of DUI, improper lane usage, speeding, disobeying a traffic control signal and open alcohol by a driver. He was taken to the police station and then released.
  • A 30-year-old Melrose Park man was arrested about 3 a.m. Sunday at Michigan Street and North Avenue on charges of DUI, no valid driver's license, driving an uninsured car, improper lane usage and possession of open alcohol by a driver. Police said they found empty beer bottles in the car. He was taken to the police station and then released.
  • A 21-year-old West Chicago man was arrested about 3 a.m. Sunday in the 300 block of Sunnyside Avenue on a DUI Charge. Police said they found the man asleep behind the wheel. He was taken to the police station and then released.
