Elmhurst Man Leaves Scene Of Crash: Cops

In another case, a man and woman were caught stealing liquor from a store, police said.

ELMHURST, IL – In recent days, Elmhurst police arrested people on warrants and on charges of leaving the scene of an accident, retail theft and driving violations. Here is the information from police reports:

Leaving Scene

  • Jain P. Philip, 53, of Elmhurst, was cited about 8:30 a.m. Monday at York and Industrial on charges of leaving the scene of an accident and failure to yield at a crosswalk. According to the police report, the collision was between Philip's car and a bicyclist. He was released on bond.

  • Laquann King, 26, and Kianna McWilliams, 23, both of Chicago, were cited about 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Williams Liquors & Tobacco, 925 S. York St., on a charge of retail theft. McWilliams also faces a charge of obstructing identification. According to a police report, they stole two bottles of liquor valued at $160. They were released on bond.

Alcohol charge

  • Tishara Ragland, 19, of Willowbrook, was cited shortly before midnight Tuesday at Route 83 and Roosevelt on charges of zero tolerance for those under 21 (alcohol charge), possession of a fictitious driver's license, possession of marijuana by a driver, illegal transportation of alcohol and driving an uninsured vehicle. She was released on bond.

  • Kehinde Akintola, 29, of Glenwood, was cited about 10:30 p.m. Wednesday in the 900 block of North York on charges of driving with a suspended license, driving an uninsured motor vehicle and improper lighting. He was released on bond.
  • Shazsha Alvarez, 30, of Melrose Park, was arrested about 4 p.m. Monday at York and Fremont on an Alsip warrant. In the same stop, Ulyses Trevino, 19, of Chicago, was cited on a charge of no valid driver's license. Both were released on bond.
  • Murl Williams, 27, of Bellwood, was cited about 8:30 p.m. Monday at North and Clinton on charges of no valid driver's license and speeding. He was released on bond.
  • Oscar Gomez-Flores, 36, of Chicago, was cited about 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at York and Diversey on charges of no valid driver's license, driving an uninsured vehicle, failure to signal and wearing no seat belt. He was released on bond.

Warrants

  • Brianna Ellis, 27, of Chicago, was arrested about 12:30 p.m. Monday on a warrant. She turned herself in. She was released on bond.
  • Justin Tackett, 28, of Streamwood, was arrested about 9 a.m. Monday at Elmhurst Hospital, 155 E. Brush Hill, on a warrant. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
