Elmhurst Man A Repeated Nuisance In Neighborhood: Police

Officers said the man was playing loud music and throwing items in the driveway.

ELMHURST, IL – In the last few days, Elmhurst police handled cases involving a nuisance, a theft at a party, a stolen trailer, trespassing, a DUI, a disturbance and fraud. Here is information from the latest Elmhurst police reports:

Nuisance

  • A 65-year-old man who lives in the 700 block of South Sayler Avenue in Elmhurst was cited about 5 a.m. Wednesday at his house on a charge of violating the city's nuisance ordinance. Police said the man was playing loud music and throwing items into his driveway. He has been the subject of loud noise complaints in the past.

Party theft

  • A woman who hosted a party at her house on Saturday morning discovered afterward she could not find her AirPods. They were believed to be stolen. She lives in the 400 block of South Fairview Avenue. An investigation is pending.

Stolen trailer

  • A company trailer was stolen about 4 p.m. Tuesday at Super Ego Holding, 677 N. Larch Ave. It was later found in Lansing, where that town's police charged the person with possession of stolen property.

Trespassing

  • A man was sitting in a car that did not belong to him about 11 a.m. Monday at Joe Gentile's Service Center, a car repair shop at 954 N. York St. The man, who was drunk, was taken to Elmhurst Hospital. He was given a no-trespass notice.

DUI

  • A 35-year-old Berwyn man was arrested about 6:30 a.m. Monday at North Avenue and Route 83 on charges of DUI and improper parking in the roadway. Police said the man was parked in the center lane of traffic. He was released.

False identification

  • A 22-year-old Chicago man was arrested about 5 a.m. Wednesday at Lake Street and Interstate 290 on charges of possession of false identification, obstructing identification, driving with no license and disobeying a traffic control device. He was released.

Disturbance

  • Police responded to a disturbance Tuesday at the Extended Stay America hotel, 200 E. Lake St. A woman said she got into an argument with another person. Because of conflicting statements, no arrests were made. The other person was asked to leave and given a no-trespass notice.

Fraud

  • A resident in the 100 block of North Berteau Avenue told police Wednesday that someone gained access to his Gemini cryptocurrency account and stole some of the currency. An investigation is pending.

Theft

  • Several items were stolen from an unlocked storage locker between April 1 and June 11 in the 900 block of South Riverside Drive. The theft was reported Wednesday. An investigation is pending.
