ELMHURST, IL – In the last few days, Elmhurst police handled cases over a neighbor dispute involving a dog, a suspicious man and identity theft. Here is information from the reports:

Neighbor dispute

  • A resident in the 100 block of East Cayuga Avenue told police Friday that someone put dog feces on his patio, window and side of the house. The resident said he and a neighbor have had many disputes over his dog running into her yard. The suspect admitted to leaving feces in the neighbor's yard. The suspect was advised to discontinue her behavior and call the police about any further issues.

  • A man was seen walking a bicycle into a driveway and walking in between houses about 1 a.m. Monday near Walnut and North. The man was gone by the time an officer arrived. The officer found an abandoned bicycle in the bushes near the driveway

Identity theft

  • A woman told police Thursday that she lost her credit card July 3 at Shell gas station, 218 E. Butterfield Road. She then received notifications of unauthorized purchases. An investigation is pending.
  • A person tried to open an account with fraudulent information about 11:30 a.m. Friday at Verizon, 560 W. St. Charles Road. The account was denied. The suspect was last seen traveling south on Route 83.

  • Someone stole several electronic items, a microwave and a refrigerator from a locked work truck between June 15 and June 27 in the 600 block of North Larch Avenue. The report was filed Friday.
