In another case, a woman said someone gestured at her inappropriately near a church, police said.

ELMHURST, IL – In recent days, Elmhurst police handled cases involving a neighbor dispute, an inappropriate gesture, a domestic disturbance, a construction scam and a theft. Here is information from the reports:

Neighbor dispute

  • Two Elm Creek Drive neighbors have had an ongoing dispute. About 8:30 p.m. Sept. 11, one of them told police that the other one threatened him. The suspect was described as white, in her mid-30s and having blond hair. The incident was reported two days later. An investigation is pending.

Inappropriate gesture

  • A woman told police that someone gestured at her inappropriately about noon Thursday near Mary Queen of Heaven Catholic Church, 430 N. West Ave. When an officer arrived, the person was no longer in the area. An investigation is pending.

Domestic disturbance

  • Police responded to a domestic disturbance about 8:30 a.m. Friday in the 200 block of South Sunnyside Avenue. A woman said a man attacked her, while the man said the woman bit his hand. Officers found no signs of injuries. Neither the man nor the woman signed a complaint. They agreed to separate that evening.

Construction scam

  • A homeowner told police Friday she hired someone in June to complete a construction and renovation project on her property. She discovered nothing was done. The suspect has stopped communicating with her. An investigation is pending.

Theft

  • A resident in the 100 block of East Jackson Street told police Thursday that someone accessed her airline account in June and used her points without authorization. A report was filed for the company as part of the dispute.
