The park board approved a bid of $22,702 to plant 82 trees throughout the parks.

ELMHURST, IL — This spring, Elmhurst residents can look forward to new trees coming to park district parks. The park district said it realizes the shade and environmental benefits trees provide are an important part of a park visitor's experience. At the Feb. 12 board meeting, the park board approved a bid of $22,702 to plant 82 trees throughout the parks.

Every year the park district plants new trees, some for general landscape, some for tree memorials and some to replace trees removed for maintenance needs. The park district said this year, some of the parks receiving trees include York Commons, Berens and Wilder Park.
