Elmhurst Park District Removes Trees At Future Dog Park Site
The park district said it will design, engineer, bid and construct the dog park when funding is secured.

ELMHURST, IL — The Elmhurst Park District continues to move forward with a potential dog park project. The park district said in 2017, it acquired 0s762 Old York Road for the future development of a dog park, and now a tree removal project has been approved at the property.
According to the park district, the community expressed high interest in a dog park during the Vision 2020 process. The park district said it will design, engineer, bid and construct the dog park when funding is secured. However, the removal of dead and scrub trees will help prepare the site for the next steps.
The tree removal project in the amount of $17,780 was approved at the Jan. 28 park board meeting. The park district said all standing and fallen dead trees with a 2.5" diameter and greater will be removed and disposed. 18 mature trees will be protected from damage during the removal project.
