Elmhurst Police Blotter: Driving Under Influence, Drugs, Theft

Several Illinois residents were arrested by Elmhurst Police this week on a various number of criminal offenses and warrants.

ELMHURST, IL — Officers from the Elmhurst Police Department made several arrests this week and have handled a number of other criminal complaints from around the community. Here is information from the reports.

  • Francisco Rodriguez, 42, Palatine, was arrested at 8:07 a.m. March 29 for driving under the influence of drugs, driving with a suspended license and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was released on bond and will appear in court at a later time.
  • Gregory Crosby, 32, Chicago, was arrested at 9:09 a.m. on March 29 for unlawful possession of a controlled substance, driving with a suspended license, speeding and failure to signal when required. He was transported to the DuPage County Jail.
  • Kontavina Paris, 19, Chicago, was arrested at 9:09 a.m. on March 29 for failure to wear a seatbelt and unlawful possession of cannabis in a motor vehicle. He was released on bond.
  • Kelly Olmetti, 37, Melrose Park, was arrested at 8:01 a.m. on March 29 for possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. She was transported to the DuPage County Jail.
  • Jozef Szpiech, 68, Norridge, was arrested at 12:20 p.m. on March 29 for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. He was released on bond.
  • Silvio Garippo, 52, Elmwood Park, was arrested at 12:23 p.m. on March 29 for retail theft. He was released on bond.
  • Daniel Giallanza, 33, Chicago, was arrested at 12:23 p.m. on March 29 for retail theft. He was transported to the DuPage County Jail.
  • Miguel Vega, 38, Villa Park, was arrested at 2:14 p.m. March 30 for driving with a revoked license, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, disobeying a traffic control device. He was released on bond.
  • Biju Varghese, 48, Berwyn, was arrested at 8:27 p.m. on March 30 for unlawful possession of a controlled substance, driving with a suspended license, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, failure to signal when required, driving with an expired registration and possession of open alcohol in a vehicle. He was transported to the DuPage County Jail.
  • Anthony Wudi, 48, Addison, was arrested at 5:20 a.m. on March 31 on arrest warrants, possession of a controlled substance, driving with a suspended license and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was transported to the DuPage County Jail.
  • Angelica Silva, 50, Downers Grove, was arrested at 1:44 p.m. on March 31 for driving with a suspended license, operating a motor vehicle while using a cell phone, unlawful possession of cannabis by a driver and on a previous arrest warrant. She was released to Westmont Police.
  • Thomas Cherin, 35, Steward, was arrested at 1:51 p.m. on March 31 for improper lane usage, driving without registration and driving too fast for conditions. He was released on bond.
  • Veltcho Kocherov, 35, River Grove, was arrested at 8:20 p.m. on March 31 for unlawful possession of cannabis by a driver, speeding an operating an uninsured vehicle. He was released on bond.
