Elmhurst Police Report Theft, Harassment and Damage Incidents
Five arrested at Jewel, one at Dominick's.

Theft Arrests
Amjad I. Nassar, 22, 8741 W. Surrey Park, Palos Hills; Yamen Samm, 20, 1S201 Orlanbrook Drive, Orland Park; Eli C. Lupancu, 19, 8S255 Normandy Court, Burr Ridge; Mohammad A. Bsiso, 18, 7818 Woodruff Drive, Orland Park; and Maurice J. Maiah, 19, 7947 S. Nordica, Berwyn, were seen pushing two carts containing several cases of red bull and alcohol and attempting to leave Jewel, 153 E. Schiller, through the entrance doors at 12:04 p.m. Nov. 17. Their vehicle was stopped a short while later. All five were arrested and charged with felony retail theft and taken to DuPage County Jail.
Deborah E. Reyes, 49, 330 Cedar Lane, Apt. 210, Glen Ellyn, was arrested and charged with retail theft after she was seen pushing a full shopping cart of unpaid items out the door of Dominick's, 215 S. Route 83, at 12:08 p.m. Nov. 18.

Theft
A resident on the 200 block of East South Street reported at 7:26 a.m. Nov. 17 that someone had used a Chase debit card to withdraw $1,000. She contacted the bank and was told 10 transactions had been made for $100 each at ATMs in Chicago.

Someone removed a large electronic sign from the west side of the former Steven's Steak House, 476 N. York Road, between 3:30 p.m. Nov. 16 and 8 a.m. Nov. 17. The sign is valued at $2,500.
Someone took about $5 in change from a cup holder of a vehicle parked on the 300 block of North Highland between 7:15 p.m. Nov. 16 and 8 a.m. Nov. 17. The vehicle reportedly was unlocked.
Someone stole a black and white tweed shoulder bag from an unlocked car parked on the 600 block of North York Street between 5:30 and 7:20 p.m. Nov. 19. The bag is valued at $30.
Someone took an unlocked blue and silver Jaguar Cruiser mountain bike from Berens Park between 12:30 and 2:15 p.m. Nov. 20.
Someone pumped $51.10 in gas at Shell, 301 W. Butterfield Road, at 12:44 p.m. Nov. 21, and left without paying for it.
Criminal Damage
Someone used a large paving brick to smash out the rear window of a vehicle parked at 335 N. River Glen between 5 p.m. Nov. 20 and 8 a.m. Nov. 21. Damage is estimated at $400.
Harassment
A victim on the 100 block of South Prospect told police at 11:16 p.m. Nov. 22 someone made a Myspace account with the victim's telephone number stating that she is looking for sexual encounters. The victim was made aware of the account when she received a text message from an unknown person asking her to send pictures of herself.
