Elmhurst Porch Piracy, Burglary Suspects Arrested
Two men were accused of stealing a package from a doorstep, local police said.

ELMHURST, IL – In recent days, Elmhurst police arrested people on charges of theft, burglary, domestic battery, violating a protection order and DUI. Here is information from the latest Elmhurst police reports:
Porch piracy
- Two Chicago men – one 21 and the other 31 – were arrested about 10 a.m. Tuesday in the 100 block of East Crestview Avenue on theft charges. Police said a package delivered by FedEx was stolen by a person sitting in a silver Ford near a house. The suspects were taken to the DuPage County Jail.
Burglary

- Michael P. Fulcher, 43, of Westmont, was arrested about 6:30 a.m. Wednesday at Jewel, 944 S. York St., on charges of burglary, retail theft, unlawful possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. When Fulcher left the store, he carried a heavy bag and his jacket appeared bulkier than when he entered. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
- Jonathan Burkhart, 26, of Jeannette, Pennsylvania, was arrested about 6 a.m. Tuesday at Jewel, 944 S. York St., on burglary and theft charges. He was also arrested on a Cook County warrant. Police said he stole several bottles of liquor. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
Domestic battery
- A 49-year-old Elmhurst man who lives in the 200 block of East Grantley Avenue was arrested about 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at his house on two counts of domestic battery. Police said he slapped a family member during an argument. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.

- A 78-year-old Arlington Heights man was arrested about 11 a.m. Wednesday in the 500 block of North York Street on a charge of violating an order of protection. Police said he showed up at a woman's place of work, violating a court order. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
Battery
- A 23-year-old Brooklyn, New York, man was arrested about 10:30 p.m. Wednesday at Clarion Inn, 933 S. Riverside Drive, on charges of battery and resisting a police officer. He was also arrested on a Cook County warrant. Police said they responded to a fight in progress. The man ran away from them. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
DUI
- A 31-year-old Palos Heights man was arrested about 4:30 a.m. Wednesday at Thorntons gas station, 476 N. York St., on charges of DUI and illegal transportation of open alcohol. Police said the man was parked and asleep at the gas pump. He was taken to the police station and then released.
- A 45-year-old Addison woman was arrested about 10:30 p.m. Wednesday at Lake Street and Grand Avenue on charges of DUI, improper lighting, improper lane usage and stopping in a roadway. She was taken to the police station and then released.
Liquor in public
- A 52-year-old Addison man, a 49-year-old Chicago man and a 28-year-old Carol Stream man were cited about 6 p.m. Tuesday on charges of possession of liquor in public. They were in the parking lot at 630 W. Lake St., where the businesses are Lyon's Beverage Depot and Risa Bar and Grill. They were released.
Warrant
- A 36-year-old Forest Park woman was arrested on a DuPage County warrant shortly after midnight Monday. She turned herself in at the Elmhurst police station. She was released.
