Elmhurst Prepares For Ice Storm
Public works crews have pre-salted the streets and will be conducting continuous salting operations through the storm.

ELMHURST, IL — The city of Elmhurst is advising residents and commuters to take caution with the predicted ice storm on Tuesday and Wednesday. The city said public works crews have pre-salted the streets and will be conducting continuous salting operations through the storm.
The city said crews are also repairing a broken water main at 656 S. York Road. Southbound lanes of York Street from Meister Avenue to Cayuga have been transferred to northbound lanes. Crews are anticipating the work will be complete by Wednesday morning before rush hour traffic. Commuters are advised to proceed with caution or avoid the area.
The city said ComEd is adjusting ComEd crew and contractor staffing in preparation for potential increased power outage activity. ComEd will continue monitoring the weather impacts and their system status throughout the evening.
