Elmhurst Principal To Be Selected This Week
The board is holding a special meeting for the appointment of two administrators.

ELMHURST, IL – The Elmhurst School District 205 board is poised Thursday to appoint a new principal for Jefferson Elementary School.
The board plans to hold a special meeting to select the principal for Jefferson and an assistant principal for Field and Edison elementary schools. No names have been released.
Such appointments often happen during regular meetings, but the next one is set for July 12. The board likely wants the new administrators to start July 1, when the new budget year begins.

Last week, the board was set to appoint the Jefferson principal, but board President Kara Caforio pulled the item at the last minute.
A district spokeswoman later said the board removed the item because the district needed to complete the "on-boarding process" for the prospective principal before the board's vote.

Last month, the board approved Jefferson Principal Christina Podraza's resignation as part of a package of personnel actions.
The district said Podraza made the career decision because she was prioritizing her family.
