Elmhurst Public Works Worker Battered: Cops

An Elmhurst man is suspected of striking a city employee and jumping on his city vehicle, police said.

The suspect was identified as Jose Velasquez, 21, of the 200 block of East North Avenue, who was charged with battery, disorderly conduct and violating his pretrial release, police said.

ELMHURST, IL – An Elmhurst man is accused of jumping on an Elmhurst city vehicle and battering a public works employee, police said.

The suspect was identified as Jose Velasquez, 21, of the 200 block of East North Avenue, who was charged with battery, disorderly conduct and violating his pretrial release, police said.

The incident occurred about 2 p.m. Tuesday at North Avenue and Willow Street, next to Velasquez's home, police said.

Velasquez was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
