Elmhurst Residents Among DUI Arrests: Cops

One of the local drivers crashed into a guardrail and garbage cans, police said.

ELMHURST, IL – In the last few days, Elmhurst police arrested seven people, including three residents, on charges of DUI, among others. Here is information from the reports:

  • Jose Gomez-Gaitan, 18, of Elmhurst, was arrested about 9 a.m. Sunday in the 900 block of Virginia on charges of DUI, no valid driver's license, driving an uninsured vehicle, leaving the scene of a property damage accident, consumption of alcohol by a minor and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. According to a police report, he hit a guardrail and garbage cans. He was released on bond.
  • Margaret Farrow, 22, of Elmhurst, was arrested about 7 p.m. Friday in the 100 block of East First on a charge of DUI. She was released on bond.
  • Pastora Salgado, 40, of Elmhurst, was arrested about 3 a.m. Sunday in the 900 block of South York on charges of DUI, disobeying a traffic control device, not wearing a seatbelt and driving an uninsured vehicle. She was released on bond.
  • Bobby Woods, 68, of Fayetteville, North Carolina, was arrested about 2 a.m. Saturday at York and Roosevelt on charges of DUI and improper lane usage. He was released on bond.
  • Carlos Rodriguez-Velas, 24, of Bensenville, was arrested about 2 a.m. Saturday at North and Addison on charges of DUI, improper lane usage and transportation of open alcohol. He was released on bond.
  • Juan Jakoby Bracamontes, 22, of Addison, was arrested about 4 a.m. Sunday at Walnut and Lake on charges of DUI, aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, unlawful possession of marijuana, stopped in a roadway, failure to wear a seatbelt and driving an uninsured vehicle. According to a police report, he was stopped and behind the wheel asleep. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
  • Matthew Allen Weber-Mixon, 37, of Des Plaines, was arrested about 7 p.m. Sunday in the 500 block of West Armitage on charges of DUI, possession of a controlled substance, possession of alcohol, criminal damage to property, driving an uninsured vehicle and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
