Elmhurst Retail Theft Suspect Jailed: Cops

In another case, a man and a woman steal merchandise and then run away, police said.

ELMHURST, IL – A Naperville man was arrested this week after he left an Elmhurst store with a shopping cart full of unpaid merchandise, police said.

The incident occurred about 8 p.m. Wednesday at Jewel, 153 E. Schiller St., police said.

Joshua Pannell, 26, was charged with burglary, felony retail theft and attempted retail theft. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.

Pannell was also wanted on a DuPage County warrant.

In another incident Wednesday, a man and a woman stole shoes and ran out of Shoe Carnival, 195 S. Route 83, police said. It was about 3 p.m.

They were last seen driving north on Route 83. The man was described as black, having a beard, and wearing an orange shirt and black hat. The woman was described as black, having dreadlocks, and wearing a tan shirt and tan pants.
