Elmhurst School Officials Get Raises
A change to the superintendent's contract has been kept under wraps.

ELMHURST, IL – The Elmhurst School District 205 board approved pay raises for administrators and other nonunion employees Tuesday.
Administrators are set to get 3 percent pay increases for the next school year. That is under the 8.5 percent consumer price index, according to a memo by Superintendent Keisha Campbell.
In the three previous years, administrators received raises of about 2 percent, based on the consumer price index.

The board also approved raises for hourly nonunion support employees – an increase of $1 an hour, plus 3 percent salary hikes.
Nonunion food service employees are set to get 5.5 percent increases. The starting hourly rate for that group of workers is rising 4.5 percent, according to Campbell's memo.

"It's a very thorough memo," school board President Kara Caforio said.
It was a memo that was kept under wraps from the public until after the board reached its decision. Most documents under consideration are available online to the public beforehand.
The board also approved an amendment to Campbell's contract, but it has yet to release the document to the public. Patch, which asked to see the amendment last week, has filed a public records request for it.
