Elmhurst Shopper Encounters Suspicious Man: Cops

ELMHURST, IL – A shopper at an Elmhurst store over the weekend told police a man approached her and asked whether she wanted to get to know him, police said.

Upon leaving the store, she heard a loud pop and noticed the man standing in the lane just north of her, police said. She then realized one of her tires was flat.

The incident occurred about 6:30 p.m. Saturday at Jewel, 944 S. York St., police said. She reported it to police four days later.

The suspect was described as black, 40 to 45, thin, having a small Afro and wearing a white shirt.

Police labeled the incident as suspicious circumstances.
