Elmhurst Squad Cars Struck In 2 Cases: Cops
Suspects hit the front end of a squad car in one case, while in another, someone aimed a firework at a squad car, police said.

ELMHURST, IL – In recent days, Elmhurst police handled cases involving squad cars, a fake Amazon driver, harassment, identity theft, a found bicycle and an order of protection. Here is information from the latest Elmhurst police reports:
Police car hit
- After a retail theft, four people were seen walking to a car concealing what looked like a bottle of alcohol about 5:30 p.m. Friday at Jewel, 944 S. York St. They fled in a car and struck the front of an officer's squad car. They sped east on Butterfield Road. Their car was recovered Monday. An investigation is pending. The first suspect was described as a black woman with long black hair, 20 to 30, 5-foot-2 to 5-foot-7, 120 to 150 pounds, and wearing a green shirt, multicolored pants and a surgical mask. The second one was said to be a black woman with a black cover over her hair, 20 to 30, 5-foot-2 to 5-foot-7, 140 to 170 pounds, and wearing yellow shorts, a white shirt and a surgical mask. The third was described as a black woman with a light-colored cover over her hair, 20 to 30, 5-foot-2 to 5-foot-7, 140 to 180 pounds, and wearing a purple shirt, shorts, and a surgical mask. The fourth was described as a black man with short black hair, 20 to 30, 5-foot-10 to 6-foot-3, tall, thin, wearing a white T-shirt, blue jean shorts, light brown boots and a surgical mask below his chin.

- Someone from a car threw a firework at an officer's marked squad car about 8 p.m. Friday at Lake Street and Interstate 290. The driver was last seen heading west on Lake. An investigation is pending.
Fake Amazon driver
- Whole Foods, 215 S. Route 83, told police that a man posing as an Amazon delivery driver drove three Amazon Fresh orders from the store. An investigation is pending. The man was described as Hispanic, in his late teens or 20s, and wearing a black baseball cap with a white Adidas logo, an orange T-shirt, a blue Amazon vest, black pants, and white and black sneakers.

- A resident in the 100 block of Fellows Court told police Friday that he received numerous unwanted phone calls and text messages from an ex-girlfriend since late May. An officer called the ex-girlfriend, telling her to stop all communications with the resident.
- A resident in the 200 block of East Wrightwood Avenue told police Saturday that she received numerous unwanted friend requests on Snapchat from a former friend. She said she filed a police report a few years back about the same suspect harassing her. The officer said he would contact the suspect and ask her to stop contacting the resident.
Identity theft
- A resident in the 100 block of Joanne Way told police Friday that someone used her credit card to make a purchase in Canton, Michigan. She received an email to confirm the purchase. She called the business and explained that she did not buy anything. Canton police arrested a suspect. The resident canceled her card.
Found bicycle
- An officer saw a gray Trek 21-speed bicycle about 8:30 a.m. Saturday in the parkway near Visitation Catholic Church, 779 S. York St. The bike was placed into evidence for safekeeping.
Order of protection
- A resident in the 700 block of Howard Avenue told police Saturday that he has an order of protection against a suspect. He believes the suspect has driven past his house several times, violating the order. The suspect denied driving past the house. The resident was asked to call the police if there was another occurrence.
