Elmhurst Standoff: Kidnapping Suspect Identified
Man was taken to the DuPage County Jail and released two days later.
ELMHURST, IL — A Chicago man was arrested in the standoff with police over the weekend while holding a woman against her will, police said.
Farro J. Becton, 25, was charged with aggravated domestic battery, domestic battery, unlawful restraint, interfering with a 911 call, criminal trespass to a motor vehicle and kidnapping.
Becton was taken to the DuPage County Jail. He made bond and was released late Monday night.

Police said they believed a gun was involved in the incident, which took place in a town home in the 1100 block of Eldridge Lane. Several neighboring homes were evacuated, and local traffic was diverted from the area, police said. The incident started about 7 a.m.
Officers negotiated with Becton, who was in the home with the woman, according to a police news release. The woman was able to leave the home with the help of police.

Becton was taken into custody about 12:45 p.m., police said.
