Elmhurst Store Worker Scammed: Cops
A man told the employee he knew the owner and manager, police said.

ELMHURST, IL – A man entered a downtown Elmhurst store and scammed an employee over the weekend, police said.
About 4 p.m. Sunday, the man told an employee at Get Bazzy, 152 N. York St., that he knew the owner and manager and asked for money, according to a police report. He said his cousin was in an accident and needed money for a tow truck, police said.
The employee gave money to the man, who left the store, heading south on foot, the report said.

The man was described as white, 45 to 50 years old, 5-foot-9, 210 pounds and bald.
An investigation is pending, police said.
