Elmhurst Stormwater Systems Managing Well: City
City crews are cleaning up damage from Monday evening's storm.

ELMHURST, IL – Elmhurst's stormwater systems managed well after 5.7 inches of rain fell in the last week, the city said Tuesday.
In a statement, the city said 4.4 inches of rain have fallen in the past three days, citing DuPage County and federal data.
On Tuesday, the city was cleaning up damage from Monday evening's storm. Forestry crews are working in the areas north of North Avenue and east of York Street, which sustained considerable damage, the city said.

Contract sweepers completed their work Monday in northwest Elmhurst, which will be swept again after the initial debris cleanup is finished, the city said.
The city will not pick up branches from private property. Rather, it advised residents to gather and cut branches into sizes dictated by the garbage contractor – with bundles no bigger than 48 inches long and 18 inches in diameter. The bundles should be brought to the curb on residents' regular garbage day.

According to ComEd's outage map, about 250 Elmhurst customers were still without power late Tuesday afternoon.
