Elmhurst Student Died In Train Collision
Witnesses described what happened just before the crash, police said.

ELMHURST, IL – An Elmhurst University student died when she collided with a Metra passenger train Monday, authorities said.
Shortly after 1 p.m., witnesses reported seeing the woman step onto the tracks just east of the crossing at Myrtle Avenue as the train approached, the city said in a news release.
Trains stopped in both directions for a time.

The 21-year-old woman was from Warrenville, the city said. Her name was not released.
Elmhurst police, Metra police and the DuPage County Coroner's Office continue to investigate the fatality, the news release said.
